In the evening of 29th September 2011, Beijing time, after the success of the launch of the Tiangong No.1, it is operating within its designated orbit. Following the success of taking astronauts to the space and walking in the space, the progress on building up a permanent space station has taken China’s aeronautic technology one step further.

　　President Hu Jintao visited the Space Control Center in Beijing and witnessed the extraordinary launch program. The rocket which accomplished the mission was the advanced model of the “Long March No. 2”. Different from the previous vehicles, Tiangong No. 1 is not an independent unit; it has several connection openings, waiting for the “Shenzhou No. 8” spaceship to connect to. “Shenzhou No.8” is expected to launch a month later. CHPAG wishes the success of the Shenzhou No.8 space program beforehand.
